Hey — I'm Matt Evans. If we've crossed paths at a tournament, you probably already know me as the Tyranid guy. I've been playing this faction for seventeen years, and these days I sit in the top 200 competitive players in the world.
That ranking wasn't talent. It was reps: seventeen years of list-building, matchup prep, and tournament weekends, including over a decade playing team events with the Denver Mountain Trolls. The grind has really paid off — I have several GT wins, won a few Majors, and most recently acquired myself a Golden Ticket to the World Championships of Warhammer in December. I'm still at events almost every month because playing top level games is the best way to improve.
In December 2025 I decided to stop treating the YouTube channel as an afterthought and start sharing everything I'd learned. Since then the Swarm has grown faster than I ever expected — and it turned into the best part of my hobby.
My philosophy is simple: we get better by playing with the best, and when we make each other the best, we only get stronger. That's how the Denver Mountain Trolls created six players ranked in the top 200 in the world. We helped each other get better, and that made all of us stronger. In the Hive I want to continue this trend and bring everyone up so we can all get better, together. We do this by sharing our lists, our wins, and our losses. My success has come from experience — and I want to share that experience with you.
