Hey — I'm Matt Evans. If we've crossed paths at a tournament, you probably already know me as the Tyranid guy. I've been playing this faction — and only this faction — for seventeen years, and these days I sit in the top 200 competitive players in the world.
That ranking wasn't talent. It was reps: seventeen years of list-building, matchup prep, and tournament weekends, including over a decade playing team events with the Denver Mountain Trolls. The grind has paid off in hardware too — including a Golden Ticket to the World Championships of Warhammer, earned entirely with Nids. I'm still at events almost every month because playing in the field is where everything I teach comes from.
In December 2025 I decided to stop treating the YouTube channel as an afterthought and start sharing everything I'd learned. Since then the Swarm has grown faster than I ever expected — and it turned into the best part of my hobby.
Here's the philosophy, and it's the whole brand: no secret tech, no gatekeeping, no guru on a pedestal. My actual tournament lists are in my videos. My losses get dissected right next to my wins. I'm not smarter than you — I've likely had more losses than most people have played games. Now I'm here to share the lessons with you and help us both improve.
